Watching the man who taught me everything I know about hunting and spent countless hours with me in the woods growing up kill his first elk was one of the best moments of my life. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bring tears to my eyes when we we finally made it far enough down the mountain to lay hands on him.
Dad made a perfect shot on him across the canyon at 679 yards! @jeffbarron70
The hardest part was the pack-out. 3 of us made 2 trips down the mountain and climbed 800 foot back up to the top with a pack full of meat TWICE to get the whole elk out. @bouldercreekoutfitters
Right after, we ran to help @kristylee15 & @crotac_predator_hunting pack out a couple of bulls they doubled up on!
Safe to say it was an AMAZING day that’s going to be hard to beat!
