It’s so easy to take a smile for granted when you don’t think about how easily it could be erased. Many, such as myself, don’t often think about how different our lives as Americans would be if there weren’t those out there to defend us, our lives, and our freedom. We wake up each morning, safe in our beds, without thinking of those who risked their lives so that we could sleep in peace each night. Peace and Freedom don’t come without a price. That price is represented in the lives of those who served, fought, and made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy in America. Today, May 31st, we pause in special recognition and memory of those heroes who paid that price. Today is more than just an extra day off work to add to a long weekend. Today is Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
