What is the difference between HIKING AND TREKKING?

How many times have you wanted to listen to your body, to your spirit? And we put it off a bit, we believe that there are more important things to do, when the first thing that really matters is to be good with ourselves so that we can be good with everything and everyone else, letting everything in our life flow.

Nature gives us that, it allows us to receive a little guidance from the Universe on the path of our lives, this path full of surprises and opportunities and decisions to make. The signals can come to us in different ways, in people, in songs, or even in a movie, but also in nature… In a flower, in a tree, in a sunset.

Walking in nature is a way to connect with ourselves, to talk a little with our hearts, and to listen to the call of our spirit. For this, we have to choose the call of adventure! maybe get out of our comfort zone a bit and overcome one or another challenge.

And what better than something that also helps us improve our health, we burn calories and help our cardiovascular system! Among many other benefits that it offers us with the simple fact of getting away from the stress of the city, I will talk later about all the benefits it offers us.

Many nature lovers often confuse these terms, or think that it is the same, "walking in the open air." Here is a guide to distinguish between the two, which in reality, ARE NOT THE SAME, and their biggest difference lies in their intensity.

Remember, if you ever practice this sport, DO NOT LEAVE GARBAGE, you have to take care of the environment. Always carry a garbage bag to collect what you no longer need, at the end of your adventure you can dispose of it in the right place.

HIKING (hiking): Walk for a while on trails.

It is a bit more touristy than trekking, the easiest way to get in touch with nature. It can be guided or self-guided, there is transportation nearby here, so if the weather changes, it is easy to return home. Also, the trails are made by humans themselves.

TREKKING: Spend more than a day and a night on unknown roads.

It requires more physical effort since it is usually on places with unevenness, although it is not necessarily mountaineering (later I will talk about the differences between mountaineering and mountaineering). In trekking, it is very important to bring the essentials to survive a journey of several days in the mountains. Here, if the weather changes, there is no option to go home easily. It is very important to do prior research on your adventure and have a route plan.
